SaferSpace
Enterprise is a software solution to block users from accessing restricted
websites. SaferSpace Enterprise is perfect for schools, libraries, and
businesses who need to block access to user-specified websites.
Major Features
SaferSpace Enterprise allows you to specify which websites to block for
which users. Simply add the websites, select the users, and click Ok.
SaferSpace Enterprise runs as a Windows service for added security and
stability.
Remote Administration
Multiple SaferSpace Enterprise installations can be easily managed remotely
using SaferSpace.Net (www.saferspace.net).
Simply sign-up for your free SaferSpace.Net account and you will be able to
see the managed installations, statistics of blocked websites, and remotely
manage the list of websites to block.
Un-Trickable!
Proxy and filter-based software to block web pages can be easily fooled.
SaferSpace Enterprise is not susceptible to these tricks.
A lot of students know to bypass proxies and filters by using the Google
Translate tool, accessing the website directly by its IP address, or by
accessing the website through a different domain name. (See
these tricks at this page.)
Logging and Notification
SaferSpace Enterprise offers several ways to log when a restricted website
is blocked. You can log the blocking to the offending computer, to your
SaferSpace.Net account so you can view the log remotely, or to a SQL Server
database in case you want to use the data for other purposes. You can also
be notified by e-mail when a website is blocked.
When a website is blocked you can choose to notify the user by showing a
message on the screen or by redirecting the user to a specified web page.
Easy Installation and Configuration
Once SaferSpace is installed and configured no other
actions are necessary. When a user tries to bring up the MySpace website in
any web browser the browser window will automatically be closed! SaferSpace requires administrator privileges to be installed.
